There is a small island facing Luanco — La Vaca, they call it — and on top of it a white chapel that waits all year for its day: 16 July.
On that day the whole village takes to the water: the Virgen del Carmen goes out in a seafaring procession and the decorated boats circle the island. Whoever has seen it once comes back. Whoever hasn't doesn't know what Luanco is.
This site's camera looks at the Luanco inlet from Pereño, and there she is: the Carmen island can be seen on the live stream, right in the middle of the frame. On 16 July, don't take your eyes off it.
