In Luanco, football carries a sea name: el Marino. Since 1931, the village's club — today in Group I of the Segunda Federación, fighting every Sunday with a village crest and a Cantabrian soul.
Its home is the Miramar municipal stadium, with room for 3,500: when Marino plays at home, half the village is in the stand and the other half is asking the score in the bar.
