🎾 Tenis Playa de Luanco
There is only one place in the world where tennis waits for the tide to go out: Luanco. When the sea withdraws from La Ribera, the village paints the lines on the sand and puts up the net. And so it has been for decades.
It is a festival of tourist interest and a Luanco pride. The 2026 edition (planned for 26–29 July) was cancelled by the organisers — but the story remains the village's heritage, and the sand is waiting.
And it is no ordinary tournament: top-flight rackets have played on La Ribera's sand — in the photo, Feliciano López, a Davis Cup player, competing here in 2005. When the village builds a court, even the elite turn up.
